Hi, I was driving thru a flood yesterday which was about as deep as the top of my licence plate. Anyway my car stalled whilst in the flood. The only thing I wanted 2 kno but couldn't check as I had 2 abandon my car was if the water went into the oil. But what my question is that anyone who has driven or know in detail about ford focus, can water easily get inside a ford focus engine oil easily or are they normally sealed and protected so water should not get in?

There are lots of ways water can enter the engine and get into the oil and it all depends on how high the level was at its highest. If it never got higher than the reg plate then it will be fine

If high enough the water gets in and fills the engine to the point where it can not turn over as it is "Hydrolocked"

You problem is NOT water in the OIL< but water in the PISTONS! THIS is VERY DANGEROUS. Do NOT attempt to start this engine UNTIL you remove ALL the spark plugs first to expel the water from the combustion chambers. Once that is done, THEN put plugs BACK in and try again. It MIGHT already be TOO LATE! A hydro-locked engine can be RUINED at the piston rods or even on the pistons. YOur CRANKCASE is perfectly sealed against WATER< or all cars would DIE in a small rainstorm!!! good luck!!

No, you will desire to no longer fret: there is not any threat in besides of the two oils 'reacting' with one yet another. examine your oil first element interior the morning: this would desire to alleviate the venture of oil interior the dipstick tube obscuring your point reading. you will desire to nevertheless would desire to wipe & reinsert the dipstick a pair of circumstances to get it sparkling.
