I have a 94 Thunderbird and just bought an ECU MODULE for it but don't even know what it does. Someone told me it was the computer of the car but I only paid $1.99 for it... isn't smthg wrong?

The ECU, also known as EEC, is the basic computer which controls your car. It controls & monitors air/fuel ratio, ignition & timing, pinging, air pressure & temperature, and more.

ECU (Engine Control Unit) is basically the Brain for the engine. It takes inputs from sensors and makes your engine run properly while you drive. Different car makes gives the Brain different names. ECM (Engine Control Module) CPU (Central Procesing Unit) EEC (Electronic Engine Control) thats most of them.
