I had my engine light scanned and a P1133 code came up and the guy who scanned it showed me on the screen which asked if I wanted to delete the code, does that mean deleting the code permanently or until it comes back? I said yes go ahead and delete it but now Im worried I might have deleted it permanently because it never came back on ever since and its been months now. Does it prompt you to delete it permanently or just until it comes back?

I apologize for my fellow answerers, I don't believe they understood what you were asking.

When a code pops up and you scan it, you have the option to delete/erase those codes. Erasing/deleting the codes just removes them from the list of actively displayed problems, it does not permanently erase the code from the computer (never to be seen or used again). If the problem persists or returns then the vehicle is perfectly capable of displaying the code again.

The P1133 code looks to be an O2 switching/air flow code, if it hasn't returned I would not be concerned about it.

Yes you wont to get rid of it and then drive it and then if the ck engine light dont come back on its good ,And then next time the ck engine light comes on then you get the code to pull up and that will be the active code and the other code that was in there is gone so it wont be there and you wont be looking at it thinking there is a problem with that code and there is not that is why you clear the code .

Not necessarily. Deleted means deleted. The code would be erased from the computer. However, if the problem that originally triggered the code still exists, expect the code and CEL to come right back.

Just the same as most people you have not told us the make/modle/year of your car and we can't work out what fault was detected. Deleting the code just turns off that occurance, if the same fault is detected again the light will come back on and the same code will be displayed. Sometimes the ECU will detect a fault if there is a power spike or sudden drop and re-setting is all that is required. Don't worry untill the 'check engine light' comes on again. Good luck.

Depends on the code. It can stop the computer from lighting the light on the dash but it doesn't actually delete the code parameter in the computer, it just tricks it to thinking things are ok. Depending on the code it can reverse itself and come back *This is all assuming that you don't fix the problem*

In short, some codes will cause the light to reappear, some won't after you clear it, but the code is still in the computer.

If you fix the problem and clear the code then it will reappear if the problem comes back.

It's deleted permanently until the problem returns. so if there is no further issue with your car you're good to go. When the problem re surfaces the light will come back on.

OMG, it hasn't blown up?

Nothing to worry about, seriously.
