I bought a 95 S420 a few months back and I finally have time to work on it and do its usual maintenance because it hasn’t been worked on for YEARS. Anyways, I had trouble finding out where I should place the floor jack to jack up the car. Does anyone know where to place it? I know where the jacking points (the rubber pads) are, but i need to place jack stands and I can’t do that if I’m jacking up the car at that point which I wouldn’t in the first place. I read some threads saying the cross member, but I’m not sure. Any suggestions?

You can place stands under the suspension strut mounting points are these are rated to support the weight of the vehicle

The crossmember is a good place for jackstands.

READ the owner's manual that came with the car. It will tell you the proper places to apply a jack to raise the car to change a tire. If you want to lift the car to do more than just change a tire, take the car to a REAL mechanic who has the proper equipment to raise the car SAFELY. DO NOT attempt to work underneath a car that is suspended just by a floor jack.

Find an owner's manual or a service manual for your vehicle.
