I was at NAPA and kind of in a rush. Asked the guy at the counter which coolant was phosphate-free (my car calls for it). He got me this ^^^. I get home and open it up, and it's the green death type stuff. Anybody know if it's phosphate free? My water at home is harder than Jack Daniels maple syrup, and I don't really want a precipitant party to leave a mess in my engine.

You're not supposed to use tap water anyway, ever.

You got the "green" stuff but you don't give a name on the jug. How are we supposed to know what you got?

Don't know what you mean by green death stuff, I've never had a problem with green antifreeze in my long life.

There is a ton of junk the the NAPA Extended Life Coolant.

Water 7732-18-5 49-50 None None

Ethylene Glycol 107-21-1 45-48 50 ppm 50 ppm

Diethylene Glycol 111-46-6 < 3 None None

Organic acid salts proprietary < 3 10mg/m3 1mg/m3

In the above, you will notice the acid salts. Also notice the organic acid. That is the organic acid technology that you must avoid.

Take it back, it IS green death.

Old fashioned green antifreeze is loaded with phosphates and silicates. Cars haven't used this crap for 17 years.

If only you had listed the year, make and model of the car you need the antifreeze for, it would be easy to recommend which tipe the factory recommends.
