What side do I introduce new freon into the a/c system of my car? High or low?

Fixing to add freon to my g/fs semi-working a/c. Slowly it's starting to get less and less cool. I assume it's about time to recharge it.

She drives a 96 honda accord. Which do I plug it up to? The high or the low pressure plug?

And the high pressure plug is always closest to the firewall correct? Lowest pressure is more towards the front of the car, right?

Additional details are more than welcome guys...

As always, I rate all good answers with thumbs up...

definitely the low side. Connecting a can of freon from the store on to the high side can result in the can blowing up in your face. Usually the high side has a different fitting, that although may look the same, requires a different connector .... to avoid such accidents. But anyway, the LOW side is the proper side.

LOW! The R134a recharge kits will only hook to the low side.
