brake light on passenger side wont work,i've checked the fuse replaced brake switch, replaced bulb, bulb housing,is there something else i need to check?there is no power going to the bulb housing.86 chevy p/u
I had an 86 Fiero (plastic pody) that was so rusted underneath the body that my rear lights failed to work; because the path to ground was poor or non-existant. Use a DC voltmeter to check whether voltage is available at the light terminal relative to a point on the frame far away when the light is ON. Then use a Ohmmeter to check for low (or no) resistance from the ground terminal to a metal part of the frame far away. Use an extension wire if necessary. Good luck. (I sadly junked the vehicle which I loved.)

once you've a multimeter you may examine to verify if there is any electrical energy to the socket. you may also get an exceedingly less expensive attempt mild for 12VDC from quite a few places...for oftentimes about a dollar. besides, examine the socket first. If no electrical energy, shop going decrease back interior the circuit wiring till you locate a level the position there is electrical energy. it's time ingesting and tedious regardless of the undeniable fact that that's about the in elementary words thanks to discover the proble. maximum brake mild issues, although, are proper interior the socket or the bulb itself. attempt replacing the bulb from the aspect that works to the aspect that would not paintings. That way you kno that the bulb actual works. do not assume that a sparkling bulb is sturdy. same holds genuine for any alternative section. If it nonetheless would not paintings, attempt cleansing the socket itself. sparkling the interior the socket extremely the little electric powered aspect interior the middle of the bottom. now and again there are 2 factors interior in case your socket and bulb have a twin purpose...i.e. operating and end mild.
