I wouldn't go lower than 3.73, I don't think you'll be too happy with it. You could use a 4.11 in that car and still get away with it however.
With a 3.73 your RPM at 65 will be 2186. If your redline is 4400 your top speed would be about 130.
With a 4.11 you would be doing 2859 RPM at 65, and your top speed would be about 100mph at 4400 RPM.
Bear in mind you will lose 20 - 30% of your fuel economy if you do this.
If you were going to change your axle ratio that much, you might need to get a shift kit for your transmission as well, since your potential acceleration would be a lot faster. I ran a 4.11 in an old Impala, and while it really brought the car alive, I got tired of how much it revved on the highway, and went back to a 3.23.

3.42's would be liveable on the street. 3.73's would be better if you don't mind a touch of fuel enonomy loss. 4.10's are out of the question because of your terrible cylinder heads and "milk toast" camshaft.
There's no way on this grean earth that a stock 305 will go anywhere near 125 with 3.73 gears. It'll run out of steam and go flat @ 5,000 RPM. You might squeeze 105 - 110 if the motor was new and sharp with 3,73's.
I had a 350 horse 327 in a 65 Chevelle that would bury the needle @125 and the tachometer read 5,500. That was with a four speed with a 1-1 high gear. No overdrive!
Think about my little English class would you? Start sentences with capital letters and learn what I told you earlier today, when to use to, too and two.

You could go all the way to 4.10, but your top speed would be like 95MPH lol. Would accelerate like holy hell though.
Personally, I've always been a fan of really low rear gears. I'd keep the 2.73.

3.55 if you just want to be faster.
3.73 if you don't care about mpg and really want to go fast.
