Question:
Will a bad car heater resistor relay cause the heater fuse to blow?

My car heater would not work, so i checked the fuse controlling the heater and it was blown. I replaced it, and the heater would only work on the highest setting (I realize this does not utilize the resistor). My heater spontaneously stopped working today, even on the highest setting, and Im assuming that its the fuse again, however, I have not had time to check yet. Will the bad resistor relay cause the fuse to periodically blow, or is it something else? My alternator squeals whenever it is really cold outside and I have too many electrical things running in my car at once. This makes me think that the voltage regulator could also be the culprit of the blown fuses. Does this sound logical? Thanks for the input!

that's either the resistor causing it to blow fuses like that or the motor its self, the resistor is what controls the speed of it so you already know it has to be replaced, but if it still continues to blow fuses like that replace the motor assembly also, the alternator will do this because its putting back the charge it took to start it with, and a bad heater motor that's drawing to many amps will cause it to do that also, good luck on it,

An immersion heater desires a 13A fuse, no longer a 3A. it relatively is considering's a 3kW heater and attracts 12 amps. If the lettering on the cartridge fuse isn't elementary to envision:13A fuse bodies are colored brown, 3A and 5A fuse bodies are pink and black respectively. in case you have the amazing fuse and it blows extra suitable than two times then you definately hav a fault with the heater element. those won't be able to be repaired and could get replaced. do no longer shop attempting fuses because of the fact you run the possibility of bobbing up the tank itself 'stay'. they are actually not in many cases high priced products. The plumber will fee lots extra.
