I would expect a detriot to last 1.5 million before a major overhaul, I have a 96 Freightliner with 1.6 million and just did my major overhaul 50,000 miles ago.

I have the series 60.

at first what 365 days is it? that they had countless circulate pump and injector pumps on the previous physique form (01,02, 03) if its older than that they become a wiring situation for the trans, there become additionally an replace to the controller for what's called kit-searching the place the torque converter isnt locking up as its meant too. additionally the air filter out on the diesel can get sooo grimy it quits drawing air and sucks itself down into the rapid. so first make certain if its the engine or the trans, then take it to the broking because of the fact they're those qualified to artwork in this truck( or an authorized diesel tech)

I would expect 400,000 would be reasonable. Longer, if it's had Schaeffer's oil used in it. I have seen over 1,000,000 on engines of all types when Schaeffer's oil has been used in them. I suppose it all depends on how the truck was used.

i would shoot for 400, 000 but ive seen many go over 1,000,000. after about 400,000 it will become harder to start and loose power.
