Well considering the amount of rain we have had over the last few weeks it will be a leak somewhere in the screen seal, door seal, sunroof or bulkhead.

yeah they do seem to do this a lot,on the fire wall, that's the steel sheet at the back of the engine bay that separates the engine bay from the cabin there's a couple of convoluted rubber drain outlets for the scuttle, both of these need to be cleared, not so easy, the battery has to come out for the off side one and taking the battery out of these isn't easy itself, for both the wipers, plastic wiper surround grill and a few other components need to come off to get access to the drain holes.
Less than an hours labour for me,for you?who knows.
and even when done it take a long time to fully dry the carpets.

Its possible that the drains from the heater intakes are clogged with dead leaves etc. Look under bonnet where the heater air goes in at base of windscreen and go from there.

My guess is that it could be a plugged A/C drain line. The A/C unit removes moisture and it has to go somewhere. Usually it goes out the drain to the ground. If the drain is plugged with some leaf debris or other junk. then the drain pan overflows.
That line is usually easy to just blow out with a _little_ compressed air.

make confident it isn't coolant from engine as a first step. then examine for rainwater pipe form below windscreen to highway isn't blocked causing water to again up and drip into next accessible hollow therefore leaking right down to floor.
