Had someone look at hubbys truck said was the ignition switch , does he have to have steering wheel puller to replace that

Yes you need to pull the wheel to get to the switch.

Because this vehicle is over 20 years old, I strongly recommend that you locate a reputable automotive locksmith to take care of this ignition switch lock replacement. The plastics, pinnings, bolts & screws will probably not be easily removed without proper equipment and most importantly lots of professional experience. The job should not be very costly if done right.

you could choose the lock plate compressor gadget to push around plate right down to eliminate small "C" clip. you're wanting to alter the lock cylinder and not the extremely ignition swap i desire. Ignition swap is on area of decrease column.
