I just bought a new 2019 camry, and I have been having a problem with my dash gauge dropping off the full line. The dealer finally with factory auth. installed a new sending/float unit.
My question is how many miles do I have to drive BEFORE the gas gauge needle starts to drop?
Also, how many gallons does this tank hold FULL? it is a LE, 4cly. engine.
Thanks, John

You're needlessly worrying and overthinking this. If you want to know how many miles YOUR car will go from a fill up to when the gauge needle starts to drop, you will have to experiment and observe it yourself. Don forget that, while you wait at redlights, the engine is still consuming fuel at idle. Your owner's manual tells the gas tank capacity and many useful things you should know about your new car. Take the wrapper off it and read it some. It's thick, but don't let that scare you. There is a LOT to know and you'll be glad after you learn those things.

A new car will most certainly come with an owners manual. Fuel capacity will be in there. That information will also be available on their website. It is not uncommon for a car to go 5 or 10 miles before noticing movement on the gauge. On some cars the needle may move right away. The shop crew probably had a laugh because someone brought a car in because the fuel gauge went down.
