I have a 97' Honda Civic and I was driving in the rain coming back from work, and ended up falling in a ditch. Ever since we pulled the car out when I drive it the steering wheel tends to twitch first and when I turn it creaks a bit then the steering wheel starts to shake and forces itself to align again. Now it creaks even more, I need to fix this car so I may drive to school and work. Any suggestions?

take it to a mechanic? tuck and roll? call AAA? grand theft auto (lol)?

My best suggestion would be to take it to a mechanic, and if you have AAA, call them and have them sort it out and rent you a car. If you don't have AAA, just take it to a mechanic, then rent a car from Hertz or something. You could try to call NPR Car Talk, but I don't know any further than that.

Honestly sounds like you might have bent the frame, and a civic being a unibody, won't be cheap at all to fix. you might have gotten lucky and just knocked it out of alignment. the only way to know for sure is take it to a garage that does alignments and such and have them diagnose it. Probably won't be worth it to fix it. Bent control arm is a possibility. Sorry that the answer isn't what you wanted to hear, but it rarely will be when something like this happens. Could be a lot of different things.

Take it to a Wheel Alignment Shop and have them look at it. Tell them what happened-you drove into a ditch. You may have bent some stuff. Let them fix it(which means a wheel alignment). They know what they are doing.. Does not have to be done at the "dealership" (only if you "want" to pay extra)

I say 1st off you pick a sparkling mechanic. in the adventure that your autos steerage wheel shakes. Its a front tire out of stability or a broken belt in the tire. once you have a broken belt you will see a knot on the tire the place the belt broke (befour it blew it is) on occasion it rather is going to be on the decrease back area the place you cant see. basically get a sparkling tire placed on the wheel and get it balanced. Dont ignore to tighten your lug nuts decrease back up in a crose development to maintain from warping your wheel.

It could be a lot of things, but it sounds like a bent control arm.

Can you imagine that? Get an alignment. Somethings bent.

sounds like you bent something like a tie rod or the control arm.
