What does it mean when I have to push all the way down to apply the brakes? And even when I do push all the way down, the car is still going, then it finally stops. They aren't squealing or squeaking. And it doesn't need brake fluid. It's a 1996 Oldsmobile Aurora 4.0 liter.. Any help plz...

If you are driving the car like this, I hope you have good insurance as you may need it. While it could be air in the brake lines, the master cylinder may be going bad and if it is your brakes may just fail. With what you are saying it is not and would not be the tires, most likely not the brake pads, so get it checked now while you are still alive.

You have air in the lines is one of the more likely causes, especially if you had a brake job done. Also have you checked your brake fluid resevoir to ensure that you have enough brake fluid in it?

If you haven't had brake work done, then it's highly likely that you're master cylinder has become bad and needs to be replaced.

first thing I would do is look at the brake pads to see if they need replaced and if the rear brakes are drum brakes they probably need set up some, then I would flush out all the old brake fluid and replace with new fluid and bleed all the brakes.

if the brake was working fine before this happening, the master cylinder is probably bad. inside the mastercylinder, there are pistons and rubber seals. if you have to push the brake pedal farther than normal, it indicate the piston seals are leaking internal . check for any leaks or worn out pads before you replace the mastercylinder.

Sounds like you either need a new Master Cylinder or Power Brake Booster if not both !

you have air in the brakes and it's not safe to drive it like that. Bleed the brakes until you have a good solid pedal.

You need new brakes. If you have new brakes then maybe they need to be adjusted. Certain vehicles need to be bleed. Depending on the make and model.

have your rear brakes clean and adjusted first before you start replacing parts

sounds like your master cylinder is leaking within its self.....it can't build pressure but it doesn't leak fluid

iwingameover gave a good response, however, if this doesn't solve the issue, you may need to have your wheels torqued again, I know down at our shop thats a common issue.
