ive got a vauxhall corsa life 1 litre. was reversing earlier and the car stalled quite badly. after that the clutch feels very loose and soft. its like ive got to lift the clutch higher for it to engage and the car to start rolling. i havent experienced any gear changing problems yet but i hope i wont. ive been reading that it could be the slave cylinder. can anyone help, will this be a easy fix/ cheap or will it be expensive.

Until inspected it will not be possible to guess at the fault. Worst case is it needs a new clutch which will be around £200 to £250

you need a new clutch Mr clutch well offer you a discount on the cost of fixing your clutch

i well give you info in you wonna save money on how to replace the clutch

If this is a corsa with the access panel on the bell housing, you do it without removing the gearbox.A Haynes manual shows the steps clearly. The g'box end plate is removed and the mainshaft is pulled back.(circlip and bolt to remove)The access panel is removed, the clutch depressed by an assistant and 3 clips are fitted to the cover to keep it compressed.Unbolt the cover and drop it out the hole, noting the notch in the outer dia lines up with a line on the flywheel.Replace release bearing through the hole.Reverse all this to fit new clutch. BAD NEWS If you have no access panel,I have not tackled one at home, but the vauxhall method involves removal of the anti-roll bar complete with lower suspension arms.Remove driveshafts, support the engine with a beam across the engine bay and remove the whole transmission assembly.Best achieved on a wheel free ramp. Progress?? Good luck.

i hope this information helps you

It could be the slave or master cyl. Not too expensive ,just do it before you ruin the gearbox

maybe the clutch needs adjusted so the pedal don,t have as far to travel before it takes hold.

sounds like the cable between the pedal and the snatch launch fork has broken( if this is cable operated) If this is hydraulic then the snatch grasp cylinder or slave cylinder might have began leaking and run out of fluid. the two are no longer substantial fixes!
