I took my truck to PepBoys today to get a diagnostics test done because it takes like 3 times to start the truck in the morning. It sounds like its going to start but it doesn't click over. Plus when I'm running the air conditioner it feels like it's going to stall. Actually it did one day when turning the corner. It's weird, it only does that when the airs on though. So now I try not to use the air. So this is what they said @ PepBoys. General Comments: Recommend Dealer! Radiator clogged & recommend thermostat,. Possible internal engine damage! Issues with air system, possible fuel injectors, etc. Codes: P0147, P0171, P0174, P0300,P1416, and again P0147, P0300. So this is why my check engine light is blinking! Any suggestions? I don't know what to do?. I think I just got screwed out of $2,500.00 from this guy that sold me the car. I just got it 5 months ago. If I can be fixed anyone know how much I would be looking @? Thank You So Much For Listening:)

A bit of a list but some will lead into others. The 171 and 174 are for a lean mixture in banks 1 and 2. That could trigger the po300. I don't see how a radiator would factor in there but I did not look up the last code just yet. Start with finding the vacuum leak I think. It could solve many if the problems including the gars to start, hotter running and the lack of power.

OK...13 year old going on 14 year old vehicle. You didn't talk about odometer reading but I bet it's a lot. You can go on line to like rockauto.com or autozone.com and get prices on a new radiator and thermostat. Don't forget Ebay also. Without hooking up to your vehicle with a scanner hard to tell what all the "P" codes mean. You could also go to KBB.com and get a value of your Jimmy and maybe that can give you an idea on what to do.

Its hard to say without knowing what its going to cost to fix it. I would not take something that old back to the dealer. Dealers tend to be expensive. Ask around and find an independent shop with a good reputation. Then, have an older man (dad type man) take your car in and have it checked out.

Sad to say, but some mechanics try to take advantage of the young, particularly women.

Yeah, I think you got screwed on that deal. I just sold my '01 GMC Jimmy last summer. I did all that work that you need for yours, plus front wheel bearings, all 4 front ball joints, all 4 shock absorbers, and 4 new tires. I could only get $3,000 even with all that work done. Either put money into it if you like it, or take the loss and walk away.

are you able to do any artwork your self or are you having it accomplished . The aspects for the radiator and overflow tank could be around $two hundred for radiator and perchance $50 for tank $15 for brand spanking new thermostat and gasket and $28 for antifreeze ( dexcool ) . The A/C device could be straightforward top off of R134A 3 cans reckoning on the place you get it approximately $40 for them finished . it relatively is in basic terms aspects no exertions . do you comprehend what all they replaced on the front end ? those issues devour ball joints .

same kind of car as my blazer ! mine is costing me too much to fix so i am selling it and getting a ford f-150 truck ! those 4.3 engines are good engines but so hard to work on ! after awhile you will have enough money wrapped in that car you can buy another car ! don,t put another dime in it, sell it and get another car !
