Carb cleaner wont hurt them be careful with the brush you don't want to scrape the ceramic part and re gap them when you are done.

2 things come to mind first are the ignition coils all working.with the key off remove the secondary wires from one coil and then start the engine you should see a blue spark jumping across the towers. then put the wires back on and do one of the other coils the same way after checking all 3 coils if any of them do not have the spark jumping across the 2 towers you could have a bad coil or a bad ignition module you can find out by swapping the coil without spark with one of the others if the coil doesnt give a spark in the other location than its a bad coil if it now has spark after moving it you would have a bad module. the other thing that could cause your misfire could be a stuck fuel injector. do this while the engine is ideling take a long screwdriver and tap on each injector if one is stuck you will notice the differece as soon as it starts working then add some injector cleaner the gas tank. I am a master certified gm technician and on this vehicle around here it is uaually a stuck injector

You can use brake cleaner or carb cleaner and a wire brush it won't hurt them. The important thing is to make sure the electrode and ground are in good condition and the insulator in the center and body is not cracked. Then set the plug gap to specification. Probably around .030

If they haven't been changed before, you should just replace them. It's only 10-15 dollars. Since there is 125k on them.
