What kind of Silverado? 1500, 2500, 3500? It makes a huge difference.

Because the TA KO is only made in Light Truck Metric sizes if you put them on a 1500 you need to increase the inflation pressure over that used with the stock Passenger-Metric tires, from 30-35 psi to at least 50 psi. This is because while LT Metric tires have higher maximum load carrying capacity at lower pressures they actually carry less load than a standard load range P-Metric tire. For example, at 50 psi your TA KO in size LT265/75R16 has a load carrying capacity of 2,470 pounds. This slightly exceeds the stock P245/75R16 109S sized tire on a half-ton pickup which can carry 2,271 pounds at 35 psi. Drop that KO down to 35 psi though and you are talking only 1,910 pounds of load capacity. You never want to go below the load carrying capacity of the stock tire size at its recommended inflation pressure. But where that P-Metric tire peaks at 35 psi the LT Metric in an E Load Range can go to 3,415 pounds at 80 psi which is why they use LT-Metric tires on 3/4 and one-ton trucks.

If you have a 2500 or 3500 then use the inflation pressures listed on the Tire Load and Inflation sticker inside the drivers door frame since 3/4 and one-ton trucks all came with LT Metric tires.

There is no 'golden' tire pressure," . The optimal setting depends on the individual driver and his preferences. For those inclined to find the ultimate setup for track use. First, get a skidpad, and plan to be dizzy. Take your dramamine. Drive in a circle, first one direction, then the other. Measure and record tire temperature distributions with a probe-type pyrometer that actually penetrates the rubber, not the "aim and click" infrared type. You want bulk temperature, not surface temperature, because the surface cools rapidly while the inner temperature is more stable. When measuring tire temperatures, if center is hotter or cooler than shoulders, there is too much or too little pressure, respectively.

Adjust pressures in 2-psi increments and record all adjustments. Adjust pressures by differences. If you start at 30 psi, and want to take out 2 psi, but the tires have heated up and are at 33 psi, set them at 31 psi rather than 28. The sum of all the changes made will be very close to the change from your initial cold setting. To check this, leave the tires alone at the end of the day, let them cool, and check the pressures in the morning. If at any point during the day you "reset" your pressures to some arbitrary starting place, you are suddenly lost, and all the work you have done that day is gone.

Looks are deceiving..

Have you ever looked at the sidewalls of a Michelin tire that is obviously wearing very well; by that I mean the tire is evenly worn and is not new?

IF you have, you will notice that the sidewalls appear as if the tire is flat. However it is not.

BF Goodrich and Uniroyal tires are now owned and made by....Michelin.

IF you are uncomfortable with the air pressure you have in the tires currently, here is an old fashioned way of checking alignment and air pressure;

Place a strip of 2 inch wide masking tape across the tread 90 degrees apart, go drive the vehicle in a straight line for about 1/4 mile, pull over for safety, look at the wear pattern...IF it is evenly worn all across the alignment and air pressure are good; IF not report back and I'll be happy to help.

Radial tires can look a bit under inflated. The maximum pressure is written on the side of the tire. Usually, the tires are not run at maximum pressure. I run mine at 35.

look on the side of the tire up next to the rim they will tell what the right pressure is,be safe my friend trust the tire maker and what they say,
