Hello, I have a question, when using a ring-type spark plug gap tool how would I measure say .044? Is it where the .044 line on the ring is at the left edge of the side electrode, the center or the right edge?

Use the center and that will be close enough, the ramp style gapper can damage fine tip plugs so be careful

What you said it right, simply slide the plug around the hole device until you reach the preferred hole. This spark plug gap tool is designed to be used in this manner. As for the anti-take hold of, i in my view use it best on the top 1/2 of the plug. I don't like to take chances of getting any within the block. Dielectric Grease is splendid stuff. I would strongly advocate using it on the spark plug boots on each ends. It helps discontinue corrosion and can supply a robust electrical connection.

For gosh sakes, You can't adjust spark plug gaps with feeler gages. Tapered ring type is the safest when trying to carefully adjust the gap on iridium plugs.

its just a general measurement, if you want fine measurement, buy a set of feeler gauges when i use those, i shoot for the middle number
