Why does my car battery die so quickly?

So my car battery has died quite a few times in the past couple weeks, and I'm trying to find out what I should do. I got it checked out at Les Schwab and they said it's fine, but the guy seemed clueless...

Basically if I listen to music for 10-15 mins with my car off then it won't start. I have subs hooked up to the battery, but the remote wire is hooked up so they turn off when the car is off, so that doesn't drain the battery... Maybe it's my alternator?

Lots of people have a problem like this, when they have HD Sound Systems.

Your Alternator should be putting out about 14.5 vdc when the engine is running.

If not, then your battery will not be recharged properly.

Often, with the Sound on, the stock Alternator is not powerful enough to keep up with the demand.

You can overcome this by turning the Sound off a few minutes before you shut the engine down.

Also, some have installed a second Battery, where when the engine is off, it is used only, saving your "start and run" battery, to let you crank and go.

You need a new battery get a new one.. with a bigger capacity if you wish to listen to your system with your car engine off..

5 minutes of pumping your music loud is enough to drain your batteries .. Park on a hill so you can roll start,. or just let your car run.. Simple as that..

If you car will start fine without blaring any music, then both your alternator and battery are fine for normal circumstances

This depends on if you put the key in the "ACC" position or the "ON" position. If you're using the "ON" position without the engine running, that will drain the battery quickly because that's when the computer and all sensor are on. The "ACC" position is for playing the stereo at the submarine races.

Probably a combination of bad battery and bad altenator. Get a ne battery first and see if that helps, if not then get your altenator repaired or get a new one. If things still don't work right your car could have bad wiring. Like I saiid try a new battery first and go from there.

Might need a new battery mate

Batteries also have a life span.. If ur battery is old and never changed it could be time to renew it mate
