Anyone ever replace an ignition switch on a honda accord? Thanks for everyones answers for my previous question. My question is, I have a 1994 Honda Accord Sedan, Automatic transmission. It seems as though I need to replace the ignition switch. If anyone can give me a ballpark on what it will cost me to have it done at a garage, mechanics, etc.... for the parts and labor. Also, what if I buy the part, and do the labor. Do you need a new ignition switch or like one answer i got said, check the junk yard or used parts store. I am not very mechanically inclined, that is the truth. But, cash is very very low. Is it a hard project. One guy here in PA gave me a quote of around 200 bucks to do the job. I figured that is parts and labor. What do you think?

I'm not sure if it's the same thing, but I just had an ignition COIL changed in my 1995 Honda Accord EX 4-door sedan and it cost $75 for the part, with around $25 for labor at this wonderful mechanic I go to close to my house.

From what I can see the part itself is not that much... 40-50 bucks. Have you tried your local library for a book on the subject? I think Chiltons ( I am not sure if they cover Hondas) show you step by step on how to fix things like that. You could always buy the part and perhaps on the side find someone willing to do the install for you. Ask at a few of your local shops...Some guys may give you their name and number and do the work for cash. Cash always talks! Ask around but try to be discreet, not all emplyers are okay with side work.

Not sure of the price, but make sure there wasn't a recall on it. I have an accord, and my ignition switch was replcaced free of charge b/c there was a recall a few years ago. Call your local dealer's shop to find out. It just may cost you nothing!

The whole assembly lists for 165.87 and the electrical switch only lists for 37.60.
