Question:
Does Exhaust Brand Make A Difference - 10 POINTS?
2010-03-02 18:16:14 UTC
I want to get pypes o/r x pipe for my Mustang and MAC long tube headers, but the price is a little much. It was going to run me about 445 dollars I found a package deal that comes with a o/r x pipe and L/T headers for 320 bucks, but the brand is pacesetter. Does the brand of exhaust make that much of a difference?

Many times in the automotive world it's a case of "you get what you pay for". The more expensive brands have more R&D invested in their products and have been around longer so they have a better established reputation. That is not to say that the lesser expensive brands are not of good quality. Pypes happens to be an excellent brand and are on the lower end of the price range. Pacesetter has a decent reputation as well, but I would check out some of the mustang forums online - you can get excellent feedback and talk to people who actually run these systems on their cars.

Brands can make a difference. For some odd reason the quality of pacesetter products vary greatly between car's. Pacesetters are cheaper for a reason. They don't do a lot of R&D, and they rush them out the door pretty quick. You're better off looking for a more reputable brand and waiting for a sale/deal. You should check out some mustang forums for the best answer though. There will be a lot of people with experience with varying brands and set ups and they should get you pointed in the right direction.

lastly, you could also talk to a local muffler shop about your options, just don't take everything they say for truth as it is a business and they are trying to make a sale after all.

It can yes but the issues boild down to ehuast blancing for your motor and also were the x pipe or H pipe is located in your exhuast system makes a huge differance depending on your setup also your collector out put size and the number of bends and how they were made in your exhuast makes a huge differance as well

personally between MAC and Pacsetter unless your looking to squeeze that last little drop out you shouldn't worrie to much i would focus more on the quality of your piping and the quality of your x / h pipe

first of all that's a 4-2-a million not a 4 right into a million. They pass from 2 cyclinders into one pipe 2 cyclinders into one pipe then those 2 pipes right into a million to the muffler. till you have twin mufflers like say the hayabusa, then it is going from 2 cyclinders into one pipe 2 cyclinders into one pipe then those 2 pipes into one then splits back into 2 to the mufflers. ( i understand with the aid of fact my inventory header is leaning against the wall in my storage). Now in case you have a V-twin it truly works somewhat diverse yet on interest motorcycles all cyclinders hyperlink. The race exhaust for TL1000R (v-twin) are equivalent length pipes. we could harm it down in case you like extra overall performance purchase an entire equipment. there is usually a conflict on whose is extra effective and a good number of the time extra high priced is extra effective yet is two hp truly worth 500bucks. the final element is discover one you like and can have the money for and get it. particular you will choose the two a ability commander or different gas administration equipment (or rejet if it has carbs) so which you do not run lean or wealthy. I actually have a micron on my Busa, advantageous value i admire the way it appears that evidently it makes me happy. I actually have a Yosh on my Tiller yet realy what proportion do you notice available interior the 1st place. in case you basically choose sound and looks, pass with a bolt on or slip on, it provides you with some beneficial factors yet not something extensive(yet usaully no choose for FM equipment). I advise micron, arrow, acropovic, 2 bros, Ti rigidity (Yosh is somewhat good yet once you have a Gixxer there are basically to many available). stay faraway from kerker or vance n hines till you like truly loud. the sound is dictated by ability of the motorbike, the bigger the displacment the deeper the sound and twins have a valid all their own. The pipe will basically make minor diffrences (even even though it's going to make some), the sole thank you to take heed to the differece is pass to a motorbike nighttime and hear as many as you could. in case you pass with an entire equipment put in a BMC RACE air fiter and drop the money to get it costom mapped on a dyno, its truly worth it. And your exhaust might desire to come out the properly suited area of the motorbike based on the three hundred and sixty 5 days.
