I've got a 1999 Vauxhall Corsa, and it doesn't have central locking or an alarm. I bought a central locking and alarm kit off tinternet, and it came with two fobs and flip-out keys. I got the keys cut today and can open the car with them, but I can't start the engine because I've just found out that it has an immobiliser, and the transponders are built-in the original keys. The body of these keys is solid plastic, but if I could drill into them, could I take out the transponder and put it in these new fobs? Are the transpoonders battery powered? If I can't do this, do you have any other ideas of ways I can get round this? :/

On some of the vauxhall range you can remove the transponder chip from the old key and replace it it the new key. the chip is glued in and they quite often break when trying to remove .

you could remove the steering wheel cowling and super glue one of your original keys to the inside of it. Then the transponder will be close enough to the ignition key immobiliser ring

car computer is asking the key whats up/with out he key with the chip the recognize is not there/try taping the original key to the ignition area and then try your new key/if it works you can trial and error the distance etc and cut key blade off etc/see what happens
