Hello Guys! I need a professional mechanic’s help! I own a Hyundai coupe 2000 model! Sometimes when driving the car acts up & shows poor acceleration, struggling for power when trying to accelerate! RPM speedometer is stuck at a slightly higher level & returns slowly to normal level only when the car is at full stop & at idle position; the above problem gets really worse when AC is turned on! The car is completely irresponsive & severely struggles for power. PLEASE HELP!

Locate, remove, and clean your IDLE AIR CONTROL VALVE. WHen you use regular dino oil in ANY car, oil vapors re-condense here and cause lack of response to computer signals. Also, clean your throttle body and plate. DId you buy this car new???? Some idiot may have taken out the good power making spark plugs and installed a set of Champions or AC's. JUNK!!!! Remove them and install a set of Bosch Platinum, Fusion, or Nippondenso Twin Tip plugs with titanium. Make SURE that your timing belt is changed on time, READ your manual 3-4 times to understand maintenance schedules. If you remove you oil filler cap and flip it over, is it CLEAN, covered in waxy brown or black flaky goo????? If so, the whole inside of your engine will be too. It will be EXACTLY the same inside. You should use Butyl Cello-solve, to remove all inner engine gunky oil, and switch to either Mobil One oil (made for Asian car specs) or ELF oil (made for Asian car specs. Good Luck!!! Please, E-mail me back with your results. Don't listen to the other idiot answerer's. Hyundai and Kia are very good, but depends on maintenance. GOod Luck!!!

I would suggest you have an air leak in the vacuum system. a clogged AIV (air induction valve) will cause this leak internally and so will a stuck open PCVV(positive crankcase ventilation valve) First thing go over all your rubber hoses and make sure they are tight and no cracks or breaks. The AIV is usually near the throttle chamber (it will have an electrical connector) . Take it off and you will see it is a motor driven valve. the valve gets clogged open often and wont operate correctly. clean it out with starting fluid and an old tooth brush. The PCVV is cheap .........just replace it Another Possibility is a clogged open EGR (exhaust gas recirculation ) valve. It can be cleaned usually the same way a $20 book will help you greatly to identify these components, their location, and how they work. I've even seen a clogged air filter cause the same symptoms you describe What I'm saying basically, is you have an air leak in the engines vacuum somewhere

I would start by asking you if you have changed the fuel filter and air filter in the last year? after that you should pour a bottle of fuel injector cleaner in you tank every few thousand miles.read the bottle.I am not sure how many miles you have on the car.You may have a bad injector but try this first. you can also run super in it for a tank to help clean it out.

welcome to the wonderful world of hyundai...instant gutless wonder..just turn on ac lol.

sorry but the problem is the sever lack of horsepower your car has. it takes many hp to run an ac. so when its on the engine uses a good sized percentage of its hp just to run the ac.

in short....normal for your car
