Hello ive just bought an astra to get it home to realise my rear passanger side door wont open from the inside or out but yet your here the same sound as all the rest of the doors unlocking any ideas?... the cars a 2006 vauxhall astra life 1.7cdti

It may be a broken wire in the door loom. These are known to stretch at the point where they go from the pillar to the door. Unscrew the large plastic connector, and strip back the insulation. You might find the broken wire there.

Like other individuals have answered, this isn't an MOT failure. Nevertheless the tester will have got to perform mot pre tests to ensure the vehicle is suitable to scan. The may just refuse to experiment the vehicle as with the door now not opening you can not view elements of the sills where there might be potentially rust which would be near to a seat belt or suspension mount and this is able to be a failure. Im now not saying your auto is rusty however the tester does now not recognize this as the door are not able to be opened to verify

If the door lock buttons is fully up, then the doors should all open from the outside?The child lock may be on, which stops the inside handle from working.A lever on the door frame when it is open needs moved to sort this.If its not that, then the panel trim will need to be removed for further investigation.Hope this helps
