I have a ryobi airstrike cordless brad nailer, Its GREAT.. BUT after a few months it just stopped working. I don't have warranty. if I take the battery out, leave it for like half a day, then i put battery in, I can press the light button and the LED light comes on for a second then turns off. If I then take the battery out, wait 1 minute then put battery back in, the light does not do the "one second" thing. the LED light will only light up for a second if i wait about 6 hours. This completely has me baffled. the gun makes no noise when pressing shoot so its not like its "trying to shoot but can't" its more like it just WON'T shoot. I am wondering if there is some kind of "jam sensor" that is being set off (that shouldn't be) that I need to change out or readjust?

The battery works fine
the connection piece for battery in the gun is perfect
nothing is physically jammed

Dead battery.

Batteries don't last forever.

Batteries can rejuvenate a few amps from non use, as shown in your explanation.

It doesn't require much amperage to illuminate a light bulb, a triple A battery can do that.

You can try to charge the battery with a charger for portable tool batteries.

Mine never worked right from the time I bought it. It would work sometimes, but sometimes not. The last couple of years it's like 90% not firing to 10% firing. I've found that if I strike the back where the depth gauge is with a hammer, then it seems to fire afterwards for a little while. But even that trick is starting to not work. The bottom line is they are basically junk. Don't waste your money if you're thinking of buying one.

If you do a lot of air nailing, buy a compressor and any Bostitch air nailer. You will never go back to electric.

The same has happened to mine! It s not the battery and it s not jammed, it as if the resevior won t fully charge for the compression.
