I recently purchased a "Silver" 2010 Dodge Charger R/T with chrome-clad wheels. What would be the best wax/polish to give it a beautiful shine and a lasting shine. Something that repels Rain and dirt. It needs to be purchased at locations like Wal-Mart, Autozone, Pep-Boys, or Advanced Auto Parts. I don't wanna have to use piece's of clay or power drill. Simple applications. I also mentioned the chrome-clad wheels. Should I use like windex or something more formluated to clean them and make them shine as well?

I feel that any of the name brand polishes are all about the same. I don't feel that one is all that much better than the others.

However, I have a preference. I prefer the new synthetic polishes. Turtle Wax Ice liquid polish for example. These new synthetic polishes do not leave the powdery residue in the little nooks and crannies. They are much more forgiving in the temperature range which they can be applied. You can apply in both direct sunlight or on a cooler day. Something that would create a big mess with the older style car wax. It works on all surfaces, except maybe the glass.

The synthetic polish is much easier to apply. I can polish my smaller car in about 20 minutes from start to finish. I can do my larger full size car in about 30 minutes from start to finish. Since the job is easier, It also works great on my motorcycle which has a lot of nooks and crannies. I feel that I may polish my cars more often.

Again. All of the major car polish companies make similar products. I feel these are also all about the same. I only stay with the Turtle Wax Ice because it was the first one I used that I liked and do not feel the need to change.

Just as important. When you wash your car don't reach for the dish washing soap or laundry detergent. Do it right and use car wash soap. Besides, this correct soap is relatively inexpensive. As before, all of the major car polish companies make this car wash soap and one is as good as the other.

Again, I have a preference. I use Turtle Wax Zip Wax. This car wash soap has wax in it. It applies a little wax each time you wash. But it is no substitution for the correct car polish.

Using wax and polish constitutes a double edged sword, Yes you are producing a shine of sorts but it is a constantly degrading process that leaves paint scoured with dulling bruise patches.

Modern automotive acrylic paint is not designed to be polished or waxed.

This paint needs to be preserved in its original state to maintain the best possible shine.

The safest option is a pure liquid non abrasive acrylic paint conditioner.

tried some. On a carnauba depending confusing wax, P21s, in the present day and extremely inspired. even though it does pick a superior purifier first to get rid of old wax previously utilising. a superior afternoons artwork and use a superior microfibre for the buffing. continually rinse with the hose on extreme stress first besides. or you probability rubbing airborne dirt and dirt and airborne dirt and airborne dirt and dirt around the paint artwork. Rinsing receives rid of the worst of it. So, rinse, wash, cleanse, then wax. Dry the vehicle after washing. a superior chamois or microfibre towel. impressive outcomes. All own and subjective of route, others discover that they prefer diverse strategies.

I've used Zymol for years and it seems to work good for me. Plus it smells like bananas. Best thing for getting brake dust off wheels and oxidation off tires is Castrol Super Clean. Spray it on, let it soak for minute, brush with nylon brush (tires & wheels) rinse.
