06 silverado 4.3 v-6 went into theft mode cuz battery went dead......its a plaine jane truck and no remote fot the doors or any alarm system that i know of.....no key fob and it was running before the battery went dead

Well it depends on if it has the factory system or someone added an aftermarket system. You can try the 10 minute key on, off 5 secs --3 times & see if that helps but either way it may need to go to the dealership.

Your 2006 Silverado, like all GM trucks made since 1998, uses the Passlock security system. The reset procedure is essentially the same as the Passkey III procedure in StPaulGuy's answer but you don't have to program the other keys - they are plain metal. The Passlock procedure is in the Common Problems section of the source. Note that all ten minute intervals are at least ten minutes and zero seconds; some procedures call it eleven minutes for good measure.
