ok, first of all, I know I should go to a dealer and get it fixed so dont bother telling me that I take all responsibility for any injuries that may occur.
Now that I've got that out of the way, I recently purchased a 1996 Ford Mustang. When I start it up, I get a series of 5 beeps 3X. I looked it up in the manual and it says its an airbag malfunction. Since I was told before I bought the car, that it had been involved in an accident on the passenger side, there probably is a problem (or none at all) Sometimes also when I am driving, it will randomly go off. I am wondering if there is a way to deactivate the alarm my concern is that one day it is going to come on and not go off

Consider this, you are driving down the road and the airbag goes off in your face or the face of your passenger. The problem that you have now could go a step further and do an accidental activation. The circuitry for this system is fairly simple. On start up the firing circuit is being checked for integrity and seems to be failing. The time of this check should be on initial start up and not after, so you have a compound problem. The firing circuit has a problem and the computer has a problem with the timing and sequence of events. You can get used computers at used car part centers/junkyards, pretty cheap. That alone may fix your problem, but you may have the secondary wiring problem, good luck.

only way to turn off the airbag light is with a ford enhanced scantool. you can disable the airbag system by removing the fuse for the circuit , but that wont turn the light off, if the light bothers you then remove the bulb . this means though if you have an accident , the airbags will not deploy , actually with a fault in the system ( hence the airbag light on ) it still wont deploy , so hope you dont have a head on collision.

Your issues stem from many substantial or minor aspects. Your motor vehicle isn't humanly diagnosable, you're waiting to connect a compter interface attempt device to the ideal laptop terminal. the warning warning signs you're describing may well be a set of motives, and in spite of if the attempt device tells you the object, it does now warrant that the section in question is punctiliously at fault, it is going to likely be a corroded connector, vacuum hoses swelled are the port, a sensor. So on your applicable activity, take your motorcar to somebody with a attempt device and a minimum of get the meaning of the code it rather is present day-day, after your have the motorcar fastened, delete the code from memory or it is going to truly soft up as right now as returned even in spite of the undeniable fact that the symptom has been repaired.
