The battery went out this winter. I need to jump it, but can't get the hood open. Both the hood and trunk trip haven't worked since the battery died.

I can see the hood latch through the grill, but I don't know how to release it.

push down on hood to close it do it hard....have someone to give a hard pull on the cable as you wiggle the hood up and down...it will pop up high enough for you to see the safety latch...trip safety latch and raise hood...you will get it down to an art after awhile...good luck

The part you can see through the grille won't release the hood until the latch is released from the inside. Why doesn't the hood release work on the inside? Is the handle broke? The cable?

Without bending the hood or chipping the paint, pry it up on the driver side front. Use plastic spatulas or a stirring spoon to wedge it slightly open. Then take some needle nose pliers and reach in to pull the cable to release the latch. Or try this wire trick.

get down on the ground and take a long screwdriver and reach up to the latch and pop it.
