Is do-it-yourself hail dent removal effective?

My insurance company gave me the money they would have spent to repair my car. I'd like to find a cheaper way to repair it than the collision repair center bid. I've already been able to replace my windshield at 1/3 the cost of their bid. Now I'd like to find a way to get rid of at least some of the dents left from the hailstorm. Any suggestions?

Dry ice is a bad idea, yes the cold will cause some of the dents to pop out but on a good hot day with lots of sun shine those dents could reappear. If you could find the correct size do-it-yourself dent puller at an auto part store ( suction cup style ) maybe you can get some of them out. I have been in the Auto Body business my entire life and I would highly recommened you find a company that does PDR ( Paintless Dent Repair ) and if you want to save money only have them remove the ones that are most obvious.
