I'm almost 16 and getting a pretty nice car soon (Nissan 370Z, Corvette, etc) and I was wondering on how do I prevent my car from being keyed?(Especially School) Please dont say I'm spoiled or anything like it. I'm not the type that gets into fights or anything but am afraid some people might get a little jealous. Is there a special alarm system that can prevent this or some liquid that would prevent it from getting keyed? I just dont want my first car being scratched. Thanks for all your help guys

thats great to hear ur getting that for you first car

its great car!

but there really isnt anything you can do to prevent scratches unleas you put a car cover on it

i have a nice fixed up mazda (muffler, new paint, rims the whole shabang)

so i always parked near the school, by a sidewalk

it was the greatest idea ever, and i never got a scratch on it

and ppl in my school would mess with ur car...in the parking lot

my friend got his tires destroyed and called triple a

but anyway you can park near a house and put a car cover to blend in with the house or u can just do it without it but u will have a better chance of not gettting a scratch

Motion sensor light is a good idea, just make it reach the street or end of the driveway. If it's really bad, you could have some kind of security camera; they're not as expensive as you might think and can be motion activated AND recorded online, in a virtual space that no one can reach. You could probably get a motion activated device that makes a sound, either to scare them away (be careful, don't piss off the neighbors with it), or at least alert you inside the house. If the cars dont have alarms, maybe look into some sensitive to touch. It's a tricky issue.

Sounds like you have enemies? I suggest you park the car in your parents garage and take the bus or walk to school. Or just dont worry about it? It is "JUST" a car and you should worry about other things like your health and love ones and completing your education. 10 years from now your going to look back at that bucket and wonder why you were so obssesed with that thing?

If you don't have the respect of your peers, it's going to happen. There is no alarm on the market that will prevent a "Key Job" from being done on your new car. You have to earn respect. I used to work in a Chicago suburb that was the 3rd richest income in the state! I have also worked in a depressed city. If you have a nice car and you act like your sh*t doesn't stink, it will be damaged! My advice to you is don't park your car at school, think about what you do before you do it, and don't flaunt your parents wealth. Good Luck and I hope you have a great life!

There really is not anything you can do to prevent it. If somebody does not like you or is jealous of you and they want to key your car, they are going to do it.

Just don't be an idiot and make enemies. My friend has an '09 Vette in the senior parking lot and no one touches it because no one hates him. He's a little cocky because he's rich, but hey, I would be too.

i know you said dont say it but im going to anyway, spoiled. but regarding your problem the only thing would be a car alarm. it wouldnt keep your car from being keyed, but you might be able to catch the person that did it.

Don't take your car to school, or park extremely far away from everyone else. There is no liquid or alarm, sorry.

buy the nissan and with the extra money your parents would of spent on the corvette, buy a P.O.S to take to school!, You'll probable wreck it anyway so don't worry so much! :)

You could take it to a body shop and have them put a couple of layers of clear coat on. It won't keep anyone from keying your paint but it would keep them from scratching the color coat.

Don't give anyone a reason, and buy a pit bull with a large chain.
