The airbag warning light is not part of the MOT so it won't fail.......yet!

However it will be introduced to the test in 2012 (which is becoming more thorough all round) so get it sorted before the next MOT.

If you're interested a full list of the changes in 2012 can be found here:

It is not part of the mot so will pass but its probably just a bit of corrosion in the connector under the seat.Any change in the resistance of the wiring disables the airbag explosive charge trigger so the bag cant go off as you drive down the road.Just unplug it and give it a spray of contact cleaner and it usually resets its self. The light is just to tell you that the system has been de activated.

I have had this problem on my vehicle sometimes it`s a connection issue. if you put your hand under the drivers seat you will possibly find a plastic male/female connector. make sure the ignition is off and push these two tight together if your wondering how his can be, some vehicles have the seat belt tensioner with the airbag hence works it`s self loose . you will not find any other connector under there. worth a try. hope it works for you. yes I know it doesn`t relate to the question but thought it might solve the

issue.

They won't fail it for that. Airbags in the side of the drivers seat, backrest are notorious for producing a warning light, usually because there is wiring under the seat base with connectors that can be diturbed by a rear seat passengers feet or by something rolling around under the seat ~ that can of diet coke you mislaid for instance.

The airbag warning light is not an MOT fail.

The ABS warning light is, many people get confused.

If you want to eat truly healthy, lose body fat consistently, normalize your blood pressure, cholesterol levels, prevent cancer, and even boost your brain health and energy levels, you may have heard all over the news that the Paleo Diet has been found to be one of the best methods of achieving all of these benefits compared to any other popular “fad” diets out there. Go here https://tr.im/VXXZC

The truth is that the Paleo Diet will never be considered a fad because it’s just simply the way that humans evolved to eat over approximately 2 million years. And eating in a similar fashion to our ancestors has been proven time and time again to offer amazing health benefits, including prevention of most diseases of civilization such as cancer, heart disease, alzheimers, and other chronic conditions that are mostly caused by poor diet and lifestyle. One of the biggest misunderstandings about the Paleo Diet is that it’s a meat-eating diet, or a super low-carb diet. This is not true

To my knowledge the air bag system isn't covered yet, those regulations come into the test spring 2012,so it ought to pass.

Oh,and trailer sockets come in to the test then too,oh boy I'm going to make some money next year!!

The airbag system is an essential part of your vehicle safety features. Failed safety features are a guaranteed fail.
