I want to stop using gasoline that has 10% ethanol in it and start using gas without ethanol in it, but I was told by someone that it may harm my engine to jump fuels like that. Thoughts?

If your car was designed to run on with 10% ethanol, you should be fine. Its the other way around that gives problems, running an engine not designed for ethanol to run with ethanol.

No harm will come to your engine.

You may gain 1-2 mpg as ethanol produces less BTUs than gasoline.

It is safe. In Arizona, we change your gasoline from non-ethanol to 10% with ethanol, every year.

Over 95% of gas now sold=E10 (contains 10% ethanol), therefore unlikely in Arizona "we change E0 to E10, every year", as Kirk said. Unless pump clearly states "Ethanol-Free", it is E10. *Especially since when I checked sites online that list E0 stations (E.G. pure-gas.org), only about 10 left in AZ. E10 is primary type of gas sold year round (does not change winter/summer). Most newer autos tolerate E10 fine (when fresh, properly blended and it has not absorbed water), with only common negative effects being lower energy=lower MPG=higher gas costs, and sometimes lower performance (E.G. stalling, hesitation).

Its actually better with pure gas than that ethanol crap. Have replaced fuel injectors on a few cars cause of it

Not true, unless you've been getting water in your tank, which ethanol will absorb but which straight gasoline will not.

I believe the gov does that when switching summer and winter blends. Dont worry bout switching to non ethenol. Ethenol is alcohol and will eat your lines and engine. But thats will too much like E85
