This is a somewhat common problem with the Rendezvous.

Symptoms are, and any combination of these:

Radio is locked, Power windows do not work, The headlights are stuck on, The chime sounds, The "AWD OFF", "SERVICE VEHICLE SOON", "BRAKE", "ABS" lights are on?

This is the result of a failed BCM (Body Control Module) The BCM controls most of the electronics on this vehicle.

NOTE: The BCM must be reprogrammed at the time of replacement before it will become active.

i anticipate this Buick has a carburator. once you're engine is chilly and you get in and push the acclerator to the floor and launch it This places the throttle up on the fast idle cam which keeps your engine at a greater robust RPM until it warms up. each so often you may rev the engine to get it off the fast idle cam. This function is to maintain from occurring what's occurring to you at present. Your throttle linkage genuine on the carburator won't be going to the fast idle place, or coming off too early. As for the popping sound, does it come out of your engine section (carburator), or out your exhaust? If out your exhaust, it can be a sticking exhaust valve; if from the engine, the an intake valve. good success.

There's a body computer under the center console, I think, and it is capable of doing some weird stuff with what it has at it's disposal. It will have to be diagnosed with a scan tool at a reputable shop.

there are recalls referencing that problem, so you may get it fixed for free

it sounds like the "body control module" is acting up --- you can also get one pretty cheap at a junk yard because that module is on other GM suvs and vans

Go into the GM recall section. There are some recalls for that issue.
