when i checked my tire pressure on my car, i took the gauge out and the stem kept hissing out air. im pretty sure its just loose and i read you can tighten the little stem inside with a flathead screw driver or a bent paperclip. how? is there a video i can see on how to do it?

You need a valve stem removal tool. Should only cost a couple of dollars at any parts store.

Most places where bicycle inner tubes are sold there are also little packages with silvery valve stem caps that have tighteners on the other end. Don't try a paper clip, which has a great potential to bend the valve core and can't get it tight enough anyway. Putting a plastic valve cover on it tightly will help more than a makeshift tool will.

If a tire store is open in your area they will often do it for free.
