Its a 1994 Toyota Hilux Surf SSR-X and I accidentally exchanged the positive terminal with the negative terminal and now the whole electrical system is down. Nothing happens when I put the key on 'ON', neither nothing shows up on the clock and the stereo doesn't work. The only thing that works is the lights on the door that indicate an open door and the beeping sound telling me that a key is in the ignition. What exactly happens when you exchange the terminals? What should I check for?

Hopefully, it's just a main fuse or fusible link in the under hood fuse/relay box.

Maybe you should stick with PS3s and stay away from cars.

I knew a man once who crossed cables while jumping an Asian import at night, when I replaced the main fuse (200 amp, in this particular case) the car started right up and ran fine. Good luck

one thing you can check is the main ignition fuse to the car this is normally located under the bonnet (hood) if your in the usa its normally a big beafy 64amp fuse as this would blow to protect the main electronics of the car
