Do you probable have the wiring harness from the aftermarket stereo?considering's what you would be able to desire to cord up your stereo. basically you would be utilising the aftermarket plug to in fantastic condition into your vehicle.the wires might bypass on your plug on your stereo in which you will have speaker wires and a floor, plus a lead cord, probable a blue cord.(potential antenna) basically sure that's what you may do.

if you have a climate control you can't put a different radio in it but if you have just the normal nobs then you can get a mounting kit and wiring harness. my car had the climate control so i bought a CD change that just pluged into the factory wiring harness in the trunk

Just_wondering is right. But I'm wondering is that the model of Taurus that has the radio and climate controls intigrated into the same panel? If so, I recommend that you don't try it.

if you want factory wiring along with your new aftermarket radio, then you need wiring harness adapter that go along with the type of stero you got. that way you dont have to cut into any wire which you have no clue of. that would be the easliest way to get it done. if you prefer to save some money without buying the adapter, then you need to cut into the factory wiring. for that 1st need to know which wires are for power. 2nd which are for speakers. most people think power is usually red but can be different or a mixture of different colors. instead of assume which wire is which. do it with a multimeter, that would help without burning the fuses. identify which are speaker wires. move them aside, you are left with power, ground, antennna etc. to find the power that mean +12vdc, hook up the meter with black probe touching the chasis or the car. with key on engine off, the red probe of the meter would be use to test out which is the hot wire. you would go through the few wires until you know which one is which is +12vdc. once you get power, ground, antenna figure out, then everything else is easy. hope that helps
