My key is stuck in the ignition and only comes out when the battery is dead i think if i figure out how to take the key out the ignition the battery will stop dying. My car has 141583 miles. My car has an automatic transmission and it is a 2006 chevy aveo.

The car doen't let go of the key until it's in park. You're gear position sensor could be bad or a little solenoid in the ignition switch could be out of adjustment.

I have this problem with my Pontiac. It's an auto theft device. If you remove the bottom of the steering column (phillips screws in most cases), you should see a small pull pin that releases your keys when pulled. Seriously. I do this 5 or 6 times a day.
