more likely it's rail dust if it's a new car. ask your salesperson to arrange for your car to be 'hit' with a clay bar. will remove the rail dust, doesn't cost the detail department or the body shop much to do it, and should solve your problem.

if it's been with you for a little while, might just be really sticky dirt. give it a good wash (hand wash) with a new mitt and see what happens.

YES this can cause spots, but if this is a new car it is more then likely bad paint. a good clear coat should protect from acid rain for 5-6 years. If your dealer gives you a hard time take it to a out side garage and have them write up a second opinion.

I have seen acid rain in brand new cars sitting on the lot and yes it can etch right through the paint into the metal, once on the car it will never come off even though they repaint the car for you and they probably will as it's under warranty it will come back again down the road.

I don't think that acid rain would have that affect that fast .

to your knowledge has the vehicle been in a hail storm .alot of times rain water will dry in spots that look like rust.

you haven't washed the vehicle with dish wash detergent have you, some clear coats don't take dish wash detergents to well.

it takes a long time for acid rain to damage the coating of the car. it's probably not rust either because the paint and overcoat aren't made of metal. try washing it with hand soap and a soft towel.

Then good! Ask them why are rust spots in your paint, you have 5 years or 60 thousand miles guarantee against corrosion and paint defects, acid rain or not.

Acid rain is very rare and usually well covered by the news.

Depends on your car quality.
