The fiesta is fused left and right sidelamps separately. If both rear lamps are not working then the problem is almost certainly the lighting switch and not fuse related. The fiesta is prone to the wires going into the switch burning up and cooking the switch itself.

Before you fit a new switch make sure the connector going onto the switch is not burnt, if it is you will need the replace the connector as well, or you will damage the new switch.

If both rear lights are out dont bother checking the bulbs its a slim probability that both went out at the same time, most likely your dash and rear lights are sharing the same fuse, or you have daytime running lights and your actual lights arent on. But most likely a fuse.

I had an '89 Festiva and the fuses in it would blow all the time. Check the fuses first, I think the dash board and the tail lights are connected to the same fuse.

Check your front sidelights also (not dipped headlamps) ie;have your light switch on its first position.If none are working it will be a faulty switch.A very common problem on fiestas and escorts.

It's unlikely to be a fuse as the left sidelights are independently fused from the right sidelights.

You have a dead short in your electrics, unfortunately you have not told us what sort of car you have as this will help direct us towards where the problem my be. For example a ford escort/sierra have been known to have problems with the rear light connectors, Peugeot 306 have had problems with the cables that run between the drivers door and the fire wall of the car.

It might be the fuse that is giving you the problem. Refer to your owner's manual to locate your fuse box. If the problem still persist It could be the bulb or the wiring.

Check fuses should near door or in glovebox area also check flasher fuses either under dash or on firewall under hood. lastly check all bulbs maybe one burn out...if all those fail then look at Autozone website more answers..
