Why is my 91 ford festiva stalling?

I recently just had a tune up that included changing spark plugs and the distributor cap. When I stop at a stop light or sign my car has a rough idle. Even if I rev the engine the car still stalls. I've also just had the battery replaced. My festiva is also eating oil so much so that I have to refill it every 2 weeks or so. I've tried looking at forums but it's kinda hard to read mechanical jargon. Does anyone have a suggestion about what it could be? I've taken it to the shop several times so I can't really afford to take it to the shop again. Any help is appreciated.

You'll either have to go up against the learning curve or pay a shop. There is no magical way to make it better. The high oil consumption does not bode well.

Your little festiva engine is probably just worn out. Its impossible to tell what all you need without actually checking it out. You may want to consider an engine replacement with a reman or a good used one from a wrecking yard. Cost might be more than the car is worth. Only you can make that decision. I hopr you can find an honest mechanic to advise you.

well your first problem is that your car is old as sh!t, second, don't take it to a shop, they'll just fiddle with some stuff and clean off some dirt, so your best solution is to find yourself a man and tell his lazy a$$ to fix it.
