I have a 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP and recently changed the rack and pinion, hub bearings, sway bar, left passenger front axle, and lately my car started shaking vigorously while i was driving, and as of two days ago it started reving by itself and when i press the gas it surges (or stalls and only revs but doesnt go) then all of a sudden the car kicks in and starts going. What can cause my car to do this? i need answer fast because i need my car to go and come from work. i drive 45 minutes to and back from work everyday. please help thank you.

Symptoms of a Defective TPS

Bucking and jerking of the car.

Idle surging of the car.

Sudden stalling of the car engine.

Hesitation while the driver of the car is trying to accelerate.

Sudden surge in car's speed while driving on the highway.

IAC (idle air control) sensor might cause your problem too.

The snatch sounds fried. each and all the fluids leaking might nicely be assisting to destroy the snatch simply by fact the snatch is produced from porous friction fabric and if it gets lined with oil or different fluids it is going to reason it to slide and expend and or glaze over and warmth the stress plate up, it incredibly is the flat steel plate on the rear if the engine it incredibly is hooked as much as the c rank shaft that the snatch grabs onto to tochronic the transmission, which back fries to snatch. fixing the snatch with all those fluids leaking could be a waste of time. It sounds such as you could pick a sparkling mode of transport. Sorry...

I'd assume it's the throttle position sensor (TPS) on the throttle body. Sounds like it by your description. This one sensor can throw a whole mess of codes in the computer when it is boogered up.

Good Luck!

engine surging is often due to a faulty idle speed control valve or sensor issue. incorrect fuel pressure can do this but very unlikely. stalling can be also idle speed control valve and air leak issues such as inlet tract or vacuum pipe.

possible ignition circuit fault such a coil pack breaking down or a circuit shorting to earth.a diagnostic check is quickest resolution.
