I have an intermittent speedo fault with my Vauxhall Astra 2003 G 1.6 Club. It just stops working. Can anyone let me know where the VSS is located and how do I go about changing it? BTW the car doesn't have ABS.

I don't know where this moron came from, but the cam sensor has nothing to do with the speedometer.
Your speed sensor is the ABS wheel speed sensor on the left front wheel. The speedometer and tach are fed by the ABS computer.

Your losing the signal from the cam sensor if you have a tester I can tell you how to check it. most of the time it's a loose connector or a defective cam sensor. I will tell you my experience with these cars are known for their electrical problems, hope this helps let us know if you can use a ohm meter so we can tell you how to tester the can sensor and the coil connection.

IM no longer effective in case you ahve an electric powered speedometor or no longer. if so it is your guage cluster. if its no longer electric powered replace your speedometor cable. If that doesnt do it replace % sensor. no longer too not basic.
