My passenger window seems to be really messed up. I have to use my button over and over just to get it to close. Sometimes I have to push the last half inch by hand just to get it all the way to the top. What exactly is wrong. I hear power, but it is not working properly. Nobody in this town that I know gives free estimates anymore, so I need some advice.
p.s. I know power windows are the worse thing to have, but my engine in my car is just great!

Could be one of two things. Either the window regulator is messed up mechanically causing the window to get jammed up and stick in the tracks, or the motor is starting to go out (drive clutch is slipping).

if your haveing these problems it means the motor that moves the glass is going out. over time you will notice it getting weaker and slower, like it is now. eventually you will find that it wont even be able to close the window. the only way to fix the problem is to replace the motor. quite often if you buy the parts at a part store you gan get it cheaper that if you take it to the mechanic and have him order it. make sure you ask the mechanic the cost of parts and compare to parthouse

Seems like the window motor in the door is dying and will have to be replaced. One could be gotten at a junkyard, but they can be difficult to put in. A new motor will cost plenty with installation, probably around $700 total. If you have a neighbor that can do it they can get a used motor and put it in for around $200-$300.

hi! so you replaced the motor without testing it ? Anyway, heres some quick help.. 1) check the lead at the motor for the up position, place a multi meter on it or touch the wire to a 12vdc lite bulb, push switch. Did you get 12vdc. 2) sam for the down position. Now if you didnt get 12vdc.... you have to test the wire at the switch, are you getting 12vdc in, if you are, switch is bad. If your not... Then either an override switch is active or a fuse is blown. Last, if you are getting 12vdc to motor when switch is pressed.... a) motor isnt grounded thats why it isnt moving. b) motor (new) is also bad. c) Window its-self id to hard to move for motor tripping motor out. hope this helps
