What are the different symptoms of the 94 F150 auto trans malfunctioning of the MLP sensor and the transmission range sensor? Will both account for severe hard upshifting after 20 min of local driving? Will both give code? No code given but always causes speed sensor to give one. Replaced speed sensor but not cause. Could bad seals also cause such after trans fluid heats up and then is incorrectly directed,(due to worn seal) causing module to not know what gear truck is actually in? Thank you, heinz

What transmission does your truck have? Is it the AOD-E or the E4OD? The MLPS (manual lever position sensor), and the TR (transmission range) sensor are the SAME part. It's just that TR sensor is the newer (and simpler) name for it. What is the symptom you are experiencing? Is it a harsh engagement, and/or upshift, in ALL gears, or just one specific upshift, or downshift? Do you have any codes (O/D cancel indicator flashing)? Sorry for all the questions. It's just that automatic transmission concerns require very detailed descriptions of the symptoms before any quality answer can be provided. If it is the AOD-E, they were known exhibit harsh 1-2 upshifts, due broken 1-2 shift accumulator springs, if this helps any. Sorry, I'm not too familiar with transmissions.
