First off, I know that it would be hard to give a for sure answer without looking at the engine.

A few weeks ago I blew a head gasket and my coolant was leaking into my oil. We pulled out the radiator and put a brand new head gasket on. The car runs very well now but I am running on bad oil pressure. My car used to run on about 60 lbs of oil pressure and now it runs on 35 lbs even at higher speeds. There are 155,500 miles on the vehicle. May that have some effect? What would cause my car to lose this much oil pressure?

thats not bad oil pressure really.try replacing the sender, but im sure you probably done a little accidental machine work. you can get by with less oil pressure. the old chevy inline 6 cylinders could run on little as 7-9 pounds.geez i think the guage maxed at 30

it may desire to be a cracked or broken gasket on the oil pan or valve hide. An oil seal on the front of the engine or between the transmission and engine (if it incredibly is front wheelpersistent) could desire to be worn, cracked or broken. If it incredibly is a gasket, with hard artwork and factors fee would be $a hundred and fifty-250 and concerning to the comparable if it incredibly is an oil seal. i won't be able to assure that the two of those is the difficulty. In warmer climate you could desire to have a blown head gasket and different than a loss of ability and somewhat white smoke from the tailpipe you does not have the ability to tell. a difficulty like a blown head gasket can fee you from $450-2450 based on the wear and tear or lack thereof to the top. i'm hoping this could help make some form of determination in direction of the existence of your motor vehicle. thank you for the two factors.

ok, there could be various reasons for oil pressure loss, 1) oil is contaminated 2) crank and main bearings are worn out 3) faulty oil pressure sensor 4) untetermined internal leak.

those are the first answers i can give you with out a pressure gauge hooked to the vehicle.also depends on how vehicle is running

if the engine is,nt making any noise then it could just be the oil sending unit but if there is noise it could be the oil pump or a rod bearing.
