For automotive door locks if you want to pick them, you need what are called jiggler lockpicks. They are supposed to be sold to automotive technicians. They are called that because you put them in the lock and jiggle them to line up the wafers. Most tool vendors like Snap ON, Mac etc. sell them. A locksmith can get them as well. If you let me know the make and model I can tell what works best for it. I run a transmission shop and have had to get into every car made. Tow truck drivers lock keys in cars regularly. This should answer the question the way you asked it. Hope this helps

The simple answer is: Without the right tools, whether professional or homemade, you can't pick a lock. Even with the proper tools, some locks cannot be picked. Now the cheaper locks you buy for your house have mushroom shaped pins that defy picking. Auto locks with double sided keys are another example of futility in picking, because both sets of pins must be aligned. There are many easier ways and some require breaking something. Better to ask: Would it be cheaper to break this, or call a locksmith?

It depends on the car. I've used a coat hanger many times to get into a car I locked the keys in.

There is a slim-jim kit that you can get that has all the standard jimmy's needed to get your keys out of the car.

ummm try Google for "lock picks" faster than asking here, although you would actually have to do something

you try to pick my lock and you're liable to find a 9mm slug in your face.
