I have a 2000 monte carlo ss 3.8 V6 and was wondering what performance upgrades do you reccommend? Looking for some cheap upgrades first then gonna work my way up, basically anything that can help my car in acceleration and top speed, currently i only have a k&n intake filter and flowmaster 40's (think they are the best flowmaster offers) how much hp u think i am pushing now before it was stock with 200 hp? thanx

a v-6 is limited, but sounds like you have done already what can be done without replacing the engine with a V-8. If you want to keep the V-6 look into a street racing cam. there are lots available. just be careful not to make any changes that would cause you to fail your SMOG test.

The others spoke back your first question particularly lots. i do in comparison to Flowmaster for my area, yet to each his own. besides, on your 2nd question, you are going to be able to correctly be pushing between 205-215 hp. incredibly, a catback and a sparkling ok&N clear out do no longer account for lots. i might seem into some headers and doubtless a extra aggressive cam. you additionally can seem right into a nitrous setup for acceleration. the only component which will help your appropriate end would be extra power and decrease gears, even nevertheless decrease gears will cut back into your acceleration, incredibly (a V6 will on no account be dealing with adequate power to word lots shrink). Acceleration vs. appropriate end - you oftentimes will no longer be able to have the two, so p.c.. one and decide for it, or stay interior the midst of the two.
